High Speed Handpiece Maintenance Procedure

Handpiece Maintenance by MCS Handpiece Ltd
Clean the Chuck Mechanism.
 

Step 1: Lubricate Chuck Mechanism with 1 drop of Lubricant.

                      (using Health Canada Approved Mineral Oil Lubricant)

Step 2: Insert Chuck Brush into Chuck Mechanism.

Step 3: Turn Chuck Brush in a Circular Motion, Back & Forth for 5 seconds.

Step 4: Lubricate chuck mechanism with 1 drop of Lubricant; Repeating Step 1.

Step 5: Run Handpiece (with Bur or Shipping Post) for 5 seconds to expel debris.

Chuck Brush's are Reusable.

Lubricate & Clean the Handpiece.
 

Step 1: Remove handpiece from unit tubing, clean with Alcohol.

Step 2: Free Spin your Turbine: With Bur Inserted and Coupling Attached, place Lubricant (2 - 3 drops) into the air drive port on the Coupling (As indicated in the Diagram Below). At the same time, Rotate the Bur between your fingers, back and forth for a few seconds.

Step 3: Re-connect handpiece to unit tubing, and Run for 30 Seconds to eliminate excess oil from the turbine.

Step 4: After Autoclaving the handpiece, allow cool gradually for 30 Minutes to Room Temperature.

Step 5: Repeat Steps 2 & 3.

Tips & Tricks
 
  • Make Sure your Handpiece is Well Lubricated.

  • Make Sure Autoclave Temperature is at Manufacturers Recommended Temperature (120c).

  • Do Not Subject your Handpiece to Any Heat above 132c/210f.

  • We Suggest to Maintain Your Autoclave/Sterilizer Regularly.

  • Do Not Lubricate a Hot Handpiece.

  • We suggest Not To Reuse Burs.

  • Make Sure Chuck Mechanism & Handpiece is Cleaned and Lubricated After Every Use.
